This Spring my favourite jewellery is mens or unisex. Statement, edgy pieces that can toughen up an outfit are definitely on my radar. The cuff is a great unisex example as it can be altered to fit the smallest of wrists or worn as a set on the upper arms a la Sienna Miller at this years’ Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Formally known as the torque it’s history goes back to the European iron age. Grecians and Romans wore them on the upper arm and Vikings liked them around the neck -fashioned from a range of metals such as bronze, brass, gold and silver, plain or twisted in design, it’s hard to believe that this style legend lives on and on.
Here are Trendstalkings favourites:
Brass Sheet Cutout Cuff with Crystal design Chilli Hot Chocolate £54.00 (made to order)
Above from Left: Silver Viper 11 Cuff Stephen Einhorn £626.00; Sterling Silver Twig Effect Cuff Anthony Blakeney £180.00; Rose Gold Plated Bangle by Jessie Harris for Chilli Hot Chocolate £410.00
In my opinion Sir Philip Green was the one who put high street fashion back on the map. You’ve got to take your hat off to him, one minute it was all about labels and catwalk designers, then the next thing we knew Phil had become besties with Kate Moss and the ‘collaboration’ was born! This was a while ago now and the trend for model/blogger/designer high street couplings has gone from strength to strength and even taken over the cosmetics world!
So here we are again, another eponymous range from the lady herself. With a more grown up feel than the previous collections this range is glamorous, well balanced and wearable for all ages/sizes but still edgy and undeniably Kate. From slinky, tassled 20s inspired party dresses to boho, balearic kaftans with bright, slavic style embroidery there is sure to be something you’ll want from this range. I’m in love with her pyjama chic style jacket (above) the clash of prints and textures works so well, it looks effortless and classy and dare I say it! comfortable (I’m getting old).
So fashionistas, get behind me in the queue on the 30th April or expected to be rugby tackled to the ground!

If you are an avid magazine reader or, like me tend to linger on the QVC beauty channel of an evening much to the annoyance of your other half then you will most definitely be aware of the Liz Earle brand. With its naturally active ingredients suitable for all skin types and ‘non fussy’ approach to skincare it has become a firm favourite of many of us busy ladies who, quite frankly have better things to do than wait for layer after layer of slap to dry on our skins before we can leave the house.
Liz Earle and Kim Buckland launched the brand back in 1996 on QVC and TV home shopping channels and the first product sold out in half an hour! With Liz’s expertise and passion for botanical ingredients and natural health having been a beauty editor and the author of over 30 books and, Kim’s knowledge of the beauty world, cosmetic formulation and marketing they were always going to be a winning team.
I started using their No.1 beauty award winner Cleanse & Polish about a year ago, although I’ve strayed being a blogger, I’ve always come back to this product to ‘normalise’ my skin, stop sensitivity and bring it back to life. With its easy, peasy application and its ability to remove every (yes every) scrap of makeup and grease using a muslin cloth and water it has even become a firm favourite backstage at shows and the theatre! It has a refreshing and decongesting menthol scent and doesn’t sting your eyes. The grass isn’t always greener when it comes to cleansers and judging by Cleanse and Polish’s bulging trophy cupboard – I think there are quite a few of you out there that agree!!
Amongst my other favourite Liz Earle products are the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion – keep it in the fridge, it is a god send for allergy sufferers and contact lens wearers either wet cotton pads and place over eyes for a soothing eye recovery after a tiring day or, semi-circles under each eye to help dark circles or bags.
I could wax lyrical about Liz Earle products all day but I think the proof is in the pudding – so visit her website or a larger branch of Boots to try for yourselves.

It’s finally Spring and as the sun struggles through the clouds our black staples are looking rather dreary and greyish, so clement times calls for clementine!
Citrus coats are currently all the rage from bright lemon, zesty lime to tangerine – team with denim or white jeans and clash your handbag! Nike Airmax for day or some killer slingbacks if you’re out on the tiles – Spring into action and channel your fruity side!

This season’s massive trend is pink, what is more, you no longer have to be five to wear it! Please take heed though we’re not talking tutus here, this colour, most commonly associated with spring , summer and femininity is now to be worn with clout in the form of cosy, rosy outerwear.
Think texture and coverage toughened up with black boots and leather. Marks and Spencer jumped on the band wagon a month ago with their sell-out pink duster coat, this was snapped up by fashionistas and bloggers alike.
For us on a budget opt for the blazer at ASOS Marketplace £42.99
Riding on its coattails the high street was soon to embrace the trend stocking it’s rails with lush, blush winter warmers.
Come on fashionistas, channel your inner Tinkerbell and feel in the pink in one of these perfect, posy delights!

Autumn’s here and we’re finally waving goodbye to the heeled, western ankle boot that has dominated the shelves of our fashion retailers for a good few years now. I’ve got to say it’s a sad farewell to this lovely, leg-lengthening stalwart but as we’ve all become heel stomping pavement clomping clones, I feel it is a time for change. So ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the funky monk shoe! Flat of heel and oozing with cutting edge kudos this beautiful, foot tapping wardrobe staple is the next big thing.
Originally created for medieval men of the cloth and then sixties gangsters this double or single strap shoe has now been updated to flatter us ladies with the addition of pointy toes, slimmer fits and funky brass or chrome hardware in a variety of designs. Mark my words fashionistas, with a pair of these on your feet you can recreate many a look. Buckle up the two-tones with leather trousers for a European, classy edge or opt for the ankle boots with opaques and a mini kilt. However you wear your monk shoes say Amen to this fashion 10! Here are a selection of my favourites starting with Jimmy Choo at Net-a-Porter.
See below: Monk Boots £85.00 from Office; Tan Monk Shoes £15.00 Topshop; Black and White Monk Shoes KG by Kurt Geiger from ASOS £120.00

Debenhams welcomes MERUMAYA to its beauty floor. This sleek, integrative, effective skincare range comes from one of the beauty industries’ biggest names Maleka Dattu. Malekas’ interest in beauty started from a young age with parents heralding from Zanzibar and Dar-es-salaam she developed a fascination with skincare and makeup and was soon working her way up the well moisturised beauty industry’s ladder. From Clinique and Origins to her most recent time with Lancôme her hard work and striving for success gained her such accolades as Cosmetic Executive Women’s Achiever of the Year in 2006 and she was most recently credited with the launch of Lancôme’s most successful range ever Genefique!
Developing her own range was a natural progression and using all her beauty know-how she launched Merumaya in 2010. This range is a powerhouse of proven ant-aging, active ingredients, with its luxe formulations and beautiful packaging it is sure to be a massive hit.
Merumaya melting cleansing balm has become a beauty must-have with journalists and makeup artists and is included in the fabulous Tease Me Please Me™ Taster Kit (below) which at £24.50 is a snip for a selection of five products. Go down to your local Debenhams and see what the hype is about!
